Well, that’s August done and dusted and the kids will soon be back at school… As I post this it’s raining and chilly outside after WEEKS of glorious sunshine, so I guess we can wave goodbye to summer too. Chiz Chiz.
Anyhoo, Summer, Winter, Autumn, Spring, Tunbridge Wells Writers rolls on regardless, and we’ll be doing the usual kind of stuff this Tuesday from 8:00pm. If you’re a first timer thinking of joining us this would would be a good opportunity for networking and socialising, as we’ll be taking a break from “Readings”. There are a few projects on the cards, so there will still be plenty to talk about.
One thing we MUST start thinking about is FRIGHT NIGHT, our traditional Halloween spookfest which will be taking place this year on the 1st Of November. Let’s hope we all make it through the official Halloween, but what better timing, should any of us fall foul of the ghosties and ghoulies, to attend in spirit should the body prove unwilling (or incapable). For the uninitiated, Fright Night is a round-the-table reading night dedicated to all things dark, devilish and dangerous. Fancy dress is optional, Morte cake, cobwebs and flickering candles obligatory. More news soon, but in the meantime the usual basic ground-rules apply: spooky stories of around 1000-1500 words, names out of the mortician’s hat for reading order. Get writing!
