Well, it’s been a busy week what with Read Your Words and various bits and bobs for Unfest, and we’re not quite done yet as Unfest still has two and-a-bit days to go before winding down with “Unofficial Tuesday’. I for one am totally knackered and suspect a few other Tunbridge Wells Writers may well be feeling the same way, so Tuesday’s meetup could be a slightly more subdued affair than usual to compensate. Still lots to talk about, though, as always, if you would care to join us. Usual place (St John’s Yard), and as per we’ll be starting in the bar at about 8:00 before moving to The Library Room a wee bit later.

Following the Haiku evening a few weeks ago it was suggested that we could have a ‘flash fiction’ reading night sometime soon. Sounds good to me, and we can have a show of hands on Tuesday.

  1. Can’t make it this Tuesday, I’m afraid, and then I finally have my (much cancelled!) foot operation. This means I won’t be there for a couple of months, so I’ll just have to write a few things instead.

  2. Hi, David – Is the following definition correct? Flash fiction is fictional work of extreme brevity, including the Six-Word Story, 140-character stories, also known as twitterature, the dribble (50 words), the drabble (100 words), and sudden fiction (750 words). Michael

    • You’re taking it far too literally Michael. You’ve been looking at wikipedia again! We’re very casual about such things and flash fiction is anything we want it to be. Call this postcard fiction, and it is offered as an example because I happened to have a scanned postcard with it on. 😀
