NEW PROJECT FOR TWWF : BREAKING THE RULES
(Project Outline by Michael Benenson)
OYEZ! OYEZ! OPEN TO RECEIVING ANY TYPE OF LITERARY CREATION, WHATEVER YOUR PREFERRED GENRE (but shorter than novella or novel length) – be it poem, drama or prose, anecdotal, epigrammatic, auto/biographical, flash, erotica, comical, satirical, horror, lyrical, sci-fi, crime, diarial or chronicle, et cetera, et cetera –
COME WRITE AND BREAK THE RULES
CREATIVELY CHALLENGE OR DEVELOP FORM AND/OR TECHNIQUE
ASSERT YOUR RADICAL OR REVOLUTIONARY APPROACH AND STYLE
OR SIMPLY WRITE ABOUT BREAKING THE RULES EVEN IF YOU DON’T!
After all, why the dickens should a sonnet not be 13 or 15 lines long? Or a villanelle work on internal rather than end-rhymes? If e.e.cummings can shun the Upper Case and Woolf let her subconscious overflow, Joyce dispense with inverted commas, and Carroll nurture neologisms and those magical portmanteau aperitifs, et cetera et cetera – then there’s room for us all to try to break NEW GROUND.
Contributions: to Michael, David or Peppy – PLEASE!
Deadline and title of project (if not Breaking the Rules) to be collectively discussed. Probably January 2017, given all the hullabaloo surrounding Halloween and Christmas “specials”, but feel free to get started at your earliest convenience. Better late than never, but a stitch in time saves nine…
