A bit slow out of the traps with this one, what with Summer Hols interrupting the blog and so forth, but TWW have finally got around to producing a hard copy of one of their e-books!
The book is Something in the Water and it’s a collection of fictional and non-fictional biographies about writers with connections to Kent and the historic spa town of Tunbridge Wells.
Where else, other than in this collection, would you find someone like William Makepeace Thackeray rubbing shoulders with a national comedy treasure like Jo Brand, or a suffrage pioneer like Sarah Grand breaking bread with a celebrated poet tramp who would have been more at home in a soup kitchen than at a high class Tunbridge Wells soirée?
If that sounds the kind of thing you might enjoy reading, why not join Tunbridge Wells Writers at Waterstones from 7:00pm onwards on Wednesday 9th September. Entry is just £3.00, and this is deductable from the full purchase price of the book AND includes a rather lovely glass of wine!
Tickets can be purchased directly from Waterstones, either over the counter or by telephone on 01892 535446. Numbers are strictly limited, so get in quick or miss the boat, if you’ll excuse the pun.*
