Jess is a poet and short story writer. Her upbringing in Wales by her eccentric Bengali parents has given her a love of both the spoken and written word.
She spent 25 years living in London and suddenly realised she missed trees and air.
Her writing tends to be about what we learn from the past, present and future, randomness and probability and how it shapes us. She is also interested in myths and legends.
She is a regular poetry slammer at Word Up! Tunbridge Wells and co-sponsor of the brilliant Lipschtick! project. She is also co-writing a “sort of” zombie film script.
In between poems and writing- she works as the assistant director of public health for Kent County Council and is mother to two furry children.
Her website is The Delilah Tempest.
