Welcome to the Tunbridge Wells Writers’ Christmas Advent Calendar.
Every day from December 1st to Christmas Eve we will be adding content to a window on the advent calendar below. Each window is a link to a piece of Christmas themed writing by one of our members. Like Forrest Gump’s chocolate box, part of the pleasure will be not knowing precisely what you’re going to get: you could find yourself reading a short story, poem or play, a non-fiction piece about Christmas tradition or even a personal ‘blog’ on what Christmas means to the individual writer. Who knows, you might even find a step-by-step guide showing you how to make your very own Blue Peter style Advent Crown from two wire coat hangers, a few lengths of tinsel, some sticky-backed plastic and the tops from four washing up liquid bottles – and who wouldn’t want to set fire to their living-room with one of those in the lead up to the great day!?
We hope you are good boys and girls and will not try opening any windows before the due date. If you do, the Christmas fairy will know, and will be very unhappy with you. You wouldn’t want that now, would you? Older posts will remain available for those who find themselves playing catch up. We hope you enjoy reading our Christmas offerings, and would take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
